So a while ago, we were experiencinga series of haunting-like events, collaborated by the late lamented Bogie (bane of bears, eater of everything). We recently were claimed by a new (to us) corgi. A few days ago, youngest spawn was alone in the house. I found her (and the dog) in the back room.

2012 begins, after taking spouse to Union Station with dim light gilding the abandoned freeways, with a rejection from Asimov's. An auspicious start: brush, floss, revise, resend.

So it actually got a little weirder. I didn't think it could be the dog walking around, because it had the heft of a man with a man's weight, not a dog with a clatter of nails. But when I finally got up to check the house I looked for him where he usually sleeps and there he was - which should be reassuring, because if it was some corporal guy who'

After much nail baiting and thanks to my husband's current employer being much better at actually paying him than his former (and thanks as well as my marvelous mother for taking over teen-shuttling duties), I find I'm able to go to WFC in San Diego.
